Originally from Canyon, Texas, Will Wright became an "Islander By Choice" in 2007 and has immersed himself in Galveston’s history and now resides with his wife and son in one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.
As the Chief Creative Officer for the Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF), Will oversees all of the creative energy that flows from GHF efforts. The foundation is tasked with engaging interest in the story of individual lives and experiences on Galveston Island from the 19th century to present day and Will's oversight of communications and events has advanced the vision of the organization by leaps and bounds.
Will was formerly the Creative Director and owner of Archive: Communication & Design, the Co-founder of the TWELVE project, the Internet Marketing Coordinator for the American Quarter Horse Association, and remains the co-founder of the Galveston Island Beach Revue.
Committed to giving back to a community that has been so supportive of his ventures, Will has served as the past president and board member for the Galveston ISD Education Foundation and the Krewe of Saints, as a board member for the United Way of Galveston, and on the committee for the Bay Area & Galveston Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Will continues to serve on the Tourism Development Advisory Committee as a representative for the Galveston Historical Foundation.
A graduate of the Rice University Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives, Will continues to expand his skill set and is working toward a Masters of Fine Arts through Texas State University.
